A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to drive to Venice Beach from Orange County. It was a 45-minute drive that I did with my brother who was visiting from Mexico.
It was my brother's suggestion to go visit Venice Beach. As a new Californian, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the beach was filled with people.
Parking was very easy, and the energy surrounding the area was happy and fun. Before we got outside the car we could see locals going for their morning walk, jogging, walking their dogs, riding their bicycles, or walking with their wetsuits and surfboards towards the water.
The first thing you see is the long pier, which is 1,300 feet long and was built in 1963. We couldn't resist but to go directly and walk on the pier. The views of the ocean and sky that offers are spectacular. We spent time admiring the beautiful landscape as well as photographing the many surfers we had on both sides of the pier.
